Palm Beach County Library – Glades Road Branch

I have to agree with the previous review that this is now a community center instead of library. People are talking loud on their cell phones, sleeping, etc. Additionally there are two individuals that sit in the station in front of the computer who are not customer satisfaction oriented. They are additionally as loud as the people that are speaking on the cell phones. Their excuse for not performing to expectations of the patrons that approach the desk is “it is policy.” It is not a good look for this library, and hopefully the library will make the necessary changes in personnel.

This branch library is the nicest library I have ever been to. I always need Large Print books and they have a a HUGE variety. Plus, before I get here, I put in requests and they usually get them all for my entire stay. I love that they let you keep books for three week periods and continuously renew them. They are very nice about fines, too, and do not charge any. Of course, I return my books right after reading them. All of the staff members I have come in contact with (on the phone, in person, etc) have been extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. It is such a pleasure. Today I took a half hour tech session with a lovely young lady. My favorite part of this relaxing atmosphere is the peace and quiet. No one is on the phone or chit-chatting. I visited the children’s room and it looked like so much fun. Great facility!
